Writing a X keylogger would require X-specific code, and should have no way of doing that from Windows code via Wine.

At least I damn well hope Wine doesn't implement some windows keylogger API just for that.

Why not? Exploit a bug in wine to run your code with wine's X credentials. Never said anything about the API itself.

If it makes (legitimate) Windows software work, I think it could well be implemented. Hence, otherwise wine should not implement basic stuff like file and directory access since that could also be abused by malware.
