ahahaha you sick psycho faggot, you can tell a lot when some sick fuck always resorts to sick shit ( beastiality etc ) to come up with insults.

I bet your hard drive is filled with all sorts of illegal pornography, someone get the fbi on this faggot's ass before he rapes more animals
Pretty much all of them as near as I can tell, provided you're willing to set up and run an SDK. However, I'm getting the feeling that Valve isn't planning to do things this way as they've already ported two of their engines to Desktop Linux and promised to do Lin/Mac/Win releases of all their games going forward. Granted, caution is always good, but I think there's some real merit here for hope.

Wow, you're pretty quick to sling the homo-as-an-insult thing, aren't you? That's projection. Probably from having your uncle rape you. No fair asking other people for help. Everybody has you on their ignore list anyway, and nobody cares about your daddy issues, you gutter-mud whore.

so, pray tell, what profit has linux gained from having a million android game titles available?

now do the math, you cock craving homo:

steam box will be ubuntu based. Same as chrome OS.

ubuntu will have Mir, ergo, steam will have mir or perhaps a completely new display manager...

now let's say Steambox is a sucess and it sells a couple of million

DO YOU REALLY THINK IN THAT GAY BITCH HEAD OF YOURS THAT A COMPANY WILL BOTHER PORTING SHIT FROM STEAM OS (a highly modified fork with new display manager, propietary drivers etc etc etc) TO XORG/WAYLAND or fucking knows what?

yeah that will be the day, for what? to sell 100 copies to linux players

      lol

      get real cock whore.

now enjoy me sodomizing that piece of shit whore you call mom and watch me as I cum all over her ass, she will then shit to live another larian

for, you see, you weren't given birth to

      you were defecated into existence.

speaking of ignore, let me place your mangled and mutilated by dick ass(hole) on my ignore list because your fingers are lil assholes and you don't type, you shit all over these forums.
I'm civil by default, and can be offensive when I choose to be. What's more, I do both better than you. You're offensive because you can't cope with life, and you're a failure as a human being. Even your insults are childish and repetitive, and you can't manage basic grammar and punctuation. You also have a fascination with anal sex and feces ... did that crack about being ass raped by your mom's boyfriend hit too close to home?

Being on your ignore list makes my dick hard, because there is no version of this exchange where you win. If you respond, I own your ass because you came back for more. If you don't, I own your ass because getting you out of my life forever was the point all along. Pwned and done ... tool.

And that, dear Phoronix readers, is how you properly deal with a troll - you choke him with his own shit.

Troll, by definition, wants to create off-topic discussion. So there is no point for troll to add anyone to his/her ignore list. So this means that... If Pallidus added you on his ignore list, he is not a troll. Which is kind sad, isn't it. As a side note for this discussion, you might be interested to know that in Finnish word "palli" is singular for "balls".

On-topic: I don't think the amount of Linux users will increase in near future this fast. The majority of people interested in Linux gaming are probably using Steam until now, so the future increases for Linux share will be much less. Current 2 % is pretty well on line with web OS statistics too (although they aren't very reliable).

However, things might change quickly if Valve or some other company decides to release some big AAA game exclusively for Linux first. Half-Life 3, anyone?

I was under the impression that a troll was someone who just wanted attention, and wasn't beyond spamming or being as offensive as possible to get it. Besides he claimed to be a troll earlier in the discussion. Owned up to it and everything. I'm just granting him the title.

I do think it's all kinds of interesting that Infinity Ward is making this kind of noise about the Piston. If Microsoft keeps dynamiting its brand like it's been doing, well ... it's like I've said before, I think there's justifiable reason to be hopeful. Personally, I'd be all giggly if I could get Half-Life 2 sometime soon.

I always get the last word faggot. Now do as your daddy did and come gag on this nasty dick

but let me be a gentleman and tell you that if black ops 2 gets released for linux (desktop) in 2013 I will personally buy and send you a copy.

do you realize how stupid it is for a company to waste resources to release a game on a platform that reprents 2% of steam users?

let me put it this way: EVEN if that game gets released for steam box os

there is no way in hell they would bother to porting it (even if it was a 3 lines of code) to desktop linux

There's been no word on steambox games not working on desktop linux. I see no reasons why they wouldn't be, since all signs point to steambox being ubuntu based

That is the mistake you are making. It has nothing to do with the share of users, it has 100% to do with revenue. It doesn't matter if there is just one user named Bob in the Linux camp, if every game that comes out he makes up 20% of their revenue, they will do the port for Bob.

Why do you think that Linux users are not a huge share of users but they make up a nice chunk of revenue? I think it has to do with my previous stated fact that Linux users are engaged and active users. Sure there are fewer game choices and less places to get their games, but I would bet that almost all of the Linux users have either a console or a windows machine to play games if they want. They are active in the Linux camp because they want to be, not because they can't get games any other way.

Bottom line it doesn't matter how many users a platform has, if the money is there the developers will follow.

On top of that, with shitty Catalyst driver and sub-optimal FOSS drivers. Imagine what could happen with quality drivers and AAA titles.
AAA title will comewith Steam Box if it's gonna succed, but i would not expect EA and Blizzard titles as there got there own networks

SteamBox does not need Ubuntu at all. Ubuntu is just a distro optimized to desktop or server use, it give nothing that is needed for Steam, as Steam it self is software distribution platform, it just need to be installed on system and it just works, Only thing they need is to teach it to deal with basic system settings (disk management, WiFi/Network configuration, same things that all consoles have).

Some people not realize this but SteamBox to be successful need to be a console at it's core, it means user must not be aware they using PC, in order to do so they need put him to big picture out of the box. If user see that this is just branded PC it will end up like yet another branded PC or HTPCs, which will fail. User could as well get own PC and connect to TV, there not much difference. So in order to SteamBox to have a reason be sold it needs to be different, it needs to be console at it's core and Ubuntu is compliantly unneeded for that.... it even stand on there way.

Speaking of Blizzard, where's that Linux port?

I don't see Bethesda or EA bothering at all. Bungie last time I checked were M$. In the top 50 game manufacturers none jump out at me other than Valve that seems to care. ID used to care (sorta) Atari may come on board but I just depressed myself.

I know I have personally petitioned NCsoft a few times, that alone would be a huge change but they don't seem interested in all, they're like "that's what Wine is for, dummy".

Edit: Will someone kick Runic games in the ass so we can TL2 (hopefully with faces).
