Phoronix: FreeBSD Works On AMD KMS, BHyVe, Clang

The FreeBSD Q4'2012 status report has been issued to update its users and other stakeholders on the state of this BSD operating system...

Work has begun on Radeon KMS support for FreeBSD. [...] The work is being done for FreeBSD 10 but there's a long way to go.
The wiki sounds a bit more optimistic. The last status update speaks about a firefox running on KMS Xorg.

So when the BSD guys have KMS working for FreeBSD 10, Wayland should work, too.... And maybe GnomeShell is ported to Wayland 'till then... I hope this Wayland port won't be Linux only, as Weston is (AFAIR).

    Default Other BSD

I hope relevant improvements can be ported OpenBSD, NetBSD and DragonFly BSD too.

    Maybe even Linux.

And before BSD fucks come trolling on this thread saying they rule and Linux suck, let me rely to all the shit FreeBSD project are shitting out of thier mouths.

FreeBSD 9.1 received Intel kernel mode-setting support
BSD fucks should tell the truth, I saw that with Intel KMS, switching to a tty from X results in a black screen. sometimes just starting X results in a black screen. the noobs who ported intel KMS to FreeBSD has broken it so it does not work at all. Fucking Dumb BSD cunts.

Work has begun on Radeon KMS support for FreeBSD. After FreeBSD 9.1 received Intel kernel mode-setting support, now it's coming for ATI/AMD Radeon graphics hardware. The work is being done for FreeBSD 10 but there's a long way to go.
So they are going to make X unusable for Radeon as well? Way to go. Perhapes the main goal is not to let BSD have KMS but to provide free components for KMS solutions for Mac and Windows. (BSD license)

BHyVe is a new virtualization hypervisor coming to FreeBSD 10.
Which is shit cause it can only run a modified version of FreeBSD and not even a normal version. Better forget about FreeBSD 10 cause as what kraftman said, in a few years no sane person will use BSD.

Up to now the patch command in FreeBSD has been an old GPLv2 patch from GNU, but now there's a new BSD-licensed patch.
Ah yes, the typical flawed BSD mentality of cause it's GPL lets switch for a BSD one which is slower and shitter and less powerful.

bsdconfig is a new configuration utility being developed
An ncurses config tool in BSD. ZOMG thought they believe in no graphical configuration tools in the base system. so they really realised that their pathetic believes are flawed. NEWS FLASH:IT'S TOO LATE. JUST KILL URSELFS!!!

Wayland will not be in BSD cause BSD fucks are so stuck up they will not execpt Wayland until it's too late

In doesn't have to be ported to Linux cause these develpoments are not breakthough in technology but rather BSD trying to catch up. Linux aready has all these and so nothing has to be ported to Linux.

Rather, things have to be ported to BSD which is mostly impossible due to BSD fucks not expecting new tech, GPL and Linux invented technologies.

Also want to add that the technologies won't be ported to other BSD as unlike Linux distros which cooperate, BSD fragments fight each other and don't share code.

FYI: Wayland is MIT-licensed, which is slightly more permissive than BSD. Mir is the only GPL3 display server.

Oh, you should have told them, man! Now they didn't know that and just started submitting patches to Wayland to get it ported

Weston is Linux-specific, however Wayland is not.
    Wayland may come to BSD.

Wayland needs KMS and some technology in the kernel that BSD doesn't have yet, but FreeBSD is working on bringing some of that over.
