Default AMD KMS/DRM Driver Moves Along For FreeBSD

Phoronix: AMD KMS/DRM Driver Moves Along For FreeBSD

Last month I reported on the AMD Linux DRM/KMS driver being ported to FreeBSD. With the developer receiving funding from the FreeBSD Foundation, progress on this open-source AMD kernel mode-setting driver is moving in a steadfast manner...

This is excellent news. The faster they can move users off VESA drivers the better.

What the hell's wrong with VESA drivers awayway? Oh yes!! it's free, open source and runs on many graphics cards (portability) which is what BSD hates.

BTW, why do you seem to care so much about BSD's pathetic attempts at getting support for modern GPU drivers what no one would even use it what it's finally they? Unless you are a supporter of BSD in which case, get really, delete BSD and use Linux 100%, insane moron!.

This action only shows the horrible project mismanagment of the FreeBSD project. Their release-9.1 repo and pkgng repo have been down for 6 months with no announcement on what's happening and they expect users to waste thier lives fucking compiling broken ports. They have introduce problems by importing clang into thge base system. And now they are "hard" at work porting KMS drivers to their shitty little piece of crap OS when they will never use it anyway cause they are so backward as to not use wayland and if their did it, the world and Linux would have moved ahead and KMS would probably be obselete by then.

This is all a complete joke. As many have said repeatedly, BSD fuckers should just go home or fuck themselfs

Isn't ARM more important as it may outstrip x86 OH WAIT!!! FreeBSD devs are so narrow minded that they accept only the existence of x86.

For those FreeBSD users with the AMD Radeon graphics hardware, updates to the state of this open-source graphics driver can be found on the FreeBSD Wiki.
No. They are found at Apple's website cause all BSD code belongs to them.

Previous to that latest update, the AMD KMS driver was running a KMS-enabled X.Org Server with the Firefox web-browser, but there were still a huge amount of debug logs and stability issues after a few minutes.
And there'll aways be until FreeBSD dies.

    Pathetic cunts

That applies to FreeBSD when it's serving Apple and Microsoft's dicks while spreading FUD about Linux.

You mean besides the lack of 2D acceleration, slow software rendering, limited screen resolution options and no support for multiple monitors that the FOSS radeon driver offers?

    Oh, nothing I suppose. :P

And I don't even use FreeBSD, but I'd like to have the option for it to support my hardware if I wanted to run it in the future.
