Phoronix: NVIDIA, Valve Share Lessons In Porting To Linux

Last month at the Game Developers' Conference (GDC), NVIDIA and Valve shared their experiences and pitfalls in porting the Source Engine to Linux. Very useful presentation! There is mistake though on slide 21 namely the wrong graph is shown (DirectX coverage instead of OpenGL). Would have been interesting to see the correct graph...

Check here later, sponsored talks are usually free. This one was sponsored by NVIDIA.

As stated on the web page:

Our hope is to have all videos live 2 to 4 weeks after the event takes place.

Actually not, in the right side it's showing what segment you can run DX10 level graphics on using OpenGL rather Then D3D. This is probably related to how Steam collects data, and that the talk is aimed at D3D centric people.
