I heard some graphics card have 36, 48 and 64-bit bpp support too.
Can Linux use 30 bpp?
Can X.org use it? Can Wayland use it?
You need special monitor?
What is needed to use this?
Is it used, useful, or needed outside medical imaging?
If you wish to use 30bpp you will need it supported from
- compatible port on GPU: DP or HDMI
- Cable DP / HDMI
- Monitor with 10-bit colour support
- GPU driver
- And finally application support from editing or viewing software
