I've never seen that before, but i get distorted colors on playback using mythtv's internal player. Also using an x1250 and 8.3.
Have you tried zooming and stretching the image? (W and CTRL+W)
I am running mythtv (mythbuntu) with FGLRX 8.3. Watching videos works fine, but when I watch live tv the tv image is doubled vertically (see the picture).
I am convinced that this is related to the video driver since the output is fine with the radeonhd driver. However radeonhd doesn't have xv support, which means I can't play HD videos.
My GPU is a Radeon X1250 (RS690) and I have this problem with both VideoOverlay and OpenGLOverlay.

I havc exactly the same problem. Myth 0.21 on FC8 with fglrx 8.3.
WHiterocker, which problem do you have -- doubled image (presumably something to do with interlaced input) or distorted colours ?
Double-image here.
Thank you Slegge and Bridgman!
Changing the interlacer helps. Whiterocker, you should try this. When I get back home in a couple of days I will have time to play more with the interlacer settings to see which interlacers that work and which don't.
Ahh, goodWhat version of mythtv, xorg, etc, etc are you using? I never got that double image thingy, but i got distorted colors all the time, and i'm starting to think it might be something with my setup rather than myth since it works for you.
I'm using Mythbuntu 7.10 with mythTV 0.21 and X.org 7.2.
Sweet! I have the same problem, thanks for the info.
Mythbuntu 7.10 with ATI 8.3 and mythtv .21
