Phoronix: Part Of XWayland Has Been Proposed For Mainlining
Red Hat's Adam Jackson has proposed a set of ten XWayland patches that be merged into the mainline X.Org Server. These changes lay the groundwork for merging the rest of the X.Org Server changes for supporting this X11 compatibility layer to Wayland...
he also had to send out 7 more patches for this
This is to make it so DIX ABI doesn't vary between rootless and non-rootless
builds. Mostly a resend of a previous series, but #7 is new.
Would these changes allow to run XOrg rootless in windows or macOS (or even AmigaOS, OS/2 and others), allowing to a seamless work with X apps under these systems?
This should have been done long ago!
Hope they finally get merged!
Really looking forward to it!
