    Default fglrx 8.3 freezes in 3D apps @ 1400x1050

    If I set the resolution to the native resolution of my LCD(1400x1050) all 3D Apps freeze as soon as I enter the game. (curiously it does not freeze in the menu). This does not happen at any lower resolution or if the window is not fullscreen. The Hardware is a M66GL(X1400) with 256MB of VRAM.

    Is this a known problem? And if not where to report to get it fixed?

    I have not seen a resolution-specific 3D hang mentioned before. Anyone else ?

    Are there any suspicious messages in your logs ?

    the only suspicious message I've found is this in syslog:

    Apr 6 11:48:03 deepblue kernel: [ 168.281625] Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason a1 on CPU 0.
    Apr 6 11:48:03 deepblue kernel: [ 168.281633] You have some hardware problem, likely on the PCI bus.
