Phoronix: RadeonHD 1.2 Driver Released

It's been a long time in the making, but the xf86-video-radeonhd 1.2 driver has just been pushed out the door. RadeonHD 1.2 is the first new release for this open-source ATI R500/600 driver since December of last year. The RadeonHD 1.2 driver includes support for new AMD graphics processors, 2D XAA/EXA acceleration, and other changes.

This is a very solid driver base for R500+ users that don't need 3D yet. It hasn't big features yet, but runs very stable. Great work to everyone involved! (more changes than the new nVidia blob...)

Oh my, that's some great news! Looking further to install this to see if my hd2600 AGP gets working, finally!

does anyone know is there any chance to get 3D working on linux with radeon 3870 x2
