Debian has yet to issue an announcement concerning these beta images for the Debian Installer for Jessie, but a sharp-eyed Phoronix reader pointed them out to us this evening, which can be found via Debian.org.

Basically that is the page for alpha/beta images:

By the way, Linux 3.16 hasn't landed yet in Debian testing/sid; so this is not meant to be Debian 8.0 beta or anything like that.

Alpha/Beta is just about state of the installer for Jessie with current components from Sid, and also one of the reason linux kernel 3.16 hasn't landed yet in Sid is because of the installer and how it is maded (mostly working snaphot of udebs in place) but now i think they can considered uploading it .

Of course if someone is in hurry about 3.16, it is in experimental .

Debian testing is frozen so automatic migration of packages from sid to testing is over. This means that testing will be very, very similar to official release of Debian 8 "Jessie".
