Hello,
I would like to buy a new notebook, a ThinkPad Z61P. This commes with ATI FireGL 5200 and a huge display resultion (1920x1200). What can you say/assume about the performance for AIXGL? (I plan to use Ubuntu 7.04). What about gaming performance? Is it possible to play in native resultion? Or at least on Microsoft Windows ( ) (with possible better driver performance?)Any ideas or experience? Thanks for any comments... falstaff |

AIGLX is not currently supported by the ATI fglrx drivers.
Should be able to play at native resolution but the performance isn't the best right now. |

So, no 3D Linux Desktop is possible atm? I've got a ATI X600, and XGL worked in Dapper...

No AIGLX with fglrx. If you use XGL it will work, but NOT AIGLX.
