Rather nice timing, I ordered a Jetson tk1 a couple days ago and look forward to getting it this weekend. Looking forward to being able to load Fedora on it with working video accelleration.

Yeah, as was said, this code mostly just wraps around existing noveau gallium code, nothing too exciting. The actual new code is about 200 lines worth.

Nice to see at least some effort for the open-driver on NVIDIA side.
I'm certainly looking forward to switching to nouveau. So far can't do, my screen gets artifacts. (GTX 750)

This is much older than a year ago (from 2012: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?pag...tem&px=MTIzNTQ ).
They cannot really open source their desktop driver (they are not owner of a decent part of the IP, plus too much work anyway), but they have started efforts to rely more on open source for new devs quite some time ago.
This is especially true in the SoC world, with new chips and many platforms and custom kernels to support.
Case in point: this is again for Tegra.

Eww, who the hell wants that code anyway? It would most likely be completely unusable within the free stack anyway. What's missing is manpower to develop noveau further, not hw docs.
