Phoronix: Intel Iris Graphics Performance On Linux 3.19 Shows Some Regressions

For any Intel Haswell Linux users with Iris Graphics thinking of switching to the Linux 3.19 kernel when it's released in what might just be a few hours, be forewarned as testing this weekend revealed there looks to be an OpenGL performance regression attributed to this new kernel...

Not socketed ones, desktop variants are i5/i7 processors which ends to R and they have iris pro gpu inside. But they are soldered to motherboard. I.e. some of the gigabyte brix have them.

Broadwell will be the first desktop CPU to offer Iris (in fact, Iris Pro HD 6200) graphics in mid 2015.

Amusingly, the regression is in 3.18. In that kernel it appears that the ACPI driver responsible for throttling the CPU when it is overheating is broken (and is failing to prevent the CPU from overheating). Be warned and upgrade before it goes critical!
