How can you pick the work if there is no source. Release early, release often... If driver never gets release it is as good as nonexistent driver. Nobody can use it.

Well, the source is there, the problem is that GPUs are very complex, and require many hours spend until you get into the matter. That is why it is not so easy to do in spare time.

No, the source is not available for the T series... and guess what? Lima was barely functional just as venders stopped using the respective MALI core. How can you get a community going that excludes all the devices we actually want drivers for?

If source code was available for the T series, people would get involved... this assumes of course they trust the leadership, and this is seriously in question. I hate to just throw that out there, but it's the truth, or at the very least the perception.

I'd definitely donate both time and money, to a project that is exclusively a modern gallium3d open driver. Lima was, and is, no such thing.

This "new" driver claims to be such a driver, but not releasing source is part of reason trust is lacking. Luc can reverse engineer, I'm not questioning his abilities in that field, but he needs to get a real expert in modern linux GPU drivers.... one that can build a maintainable architecture, that includes all very necessary features. Using Gallium is the only correct answer for this, and releasing code gets people involved who have that experience.
