Phoronix: Xfce 4.12 Is Still Planned For Release In One Week

Earlier this week we wrote about plans for Xfce 4.12 to finally be released and that it was being targeted for the end of February. Unlike failed Xfce 4.12 plans of the past few years, it looks like this release will actually pan out in one week's time...

It seems there's more development into XFCE lately. Keep going, mouse's DE.

    BTW, mouse or rat?

        FTFY.

        Edit: fixed your plurals, too.

        Further edit: also, they're bunnies.

Wow, 3 years of development time. It'll show the naysayers that Xfce is a striving DE when they get overwhelmed by full GTK3 support and complete Wayland migration.

A comatose project near its death would just get a handful of bugfixes and a new Alt-Tab window switcher but that's not Xfce.
I tell all my friends to install Xubuntu NOW! WHOOHOO!

              Why gtk3 ?

Gtk3 is just designed for GNOME. Maybe will work fine for Pantheon which is just a crippled gnome, or evolve os, but Cinnamon is really suffering cause of the GTK3. They should move onto Qt, Qt is not a specific project library designed, Qt is designed for be useful for everybody.

              Looks this example of Pffdora.

              Why?

It is consequence when something depends on Red Hat garbage.

Yes, we should all delete every single line of code done by Red Hat from our Linux distributions!

Definitely! After countless GTK desktops the world will certainly become a better place with countless Qt desktops.
