Back before ATI had acquired Macrosynergy from XGI, XGI Technology had a semi-hopeful future of producing low-to-mid-range graphics cards and presenting consumers with an additional choice. Their binary Linux drivers had sucked, and that's putting it in nice words...

This is interesting.
There is a Linux computer that ships with XGI graphics, namely the Lemote Fulong 2F (Google translation) which has an XGI V2 GPU.

As this box will only run Linux, the Lemote developers might continue the driver development.
