Text Ad Links

At Phoronix.com we will be trying out a new advertising campaign from Kontera.

This form of advertising is basically with the text-links and the little advertising windows occurring on mouse-over. While the text links may not be the best, it certainly isn't as intrusive as other types.

We will be seeing how it goes for 30 days, and during the first week or so we will still be doing tweaks to better focus the advertisements. We certainly welcome any reader comments regarding this program.

We are now trying out the Kontera text-ad links on the Phoronix Forums. These links will ONLY be placed on pages for showing threads. Any comments, suggestions, or questions are welcome.

These ad texts are laughable. Out of curiosity, I hovered over "Wine" (the Linux windows compatibility layer), and got an ad about some sort of financing thing. These things are grossly out of context (and annoying besides).
