It's been a while since the last Road to KDE 4.0, but KDE.News has a new article on Strigi and File Information Extraction. Strigi is used for obtaining information on files -- such as the resolution for an image file or the length of an audio file -- and is also capable of extracting information from compressed archives. Strigi isn't as attractive to the end-user as say the Dolphin file manager or other items covered in the road to KDE 4...
