For the GNOME-noobies like myself, what does the new version bring to the table? I mean major features, not minor. Or is it primarily bug fixes?

Ok, well I tried GNOME 2.14 the other day, and I can't really say I enjoy it like I hoped I would. Is there a chance 2.16 would at all change my opinion?
I am sure I could get more used to GNOME if I did a lot more customization, so I am not trying to disregard it entirely, hehe.

Well, it just seems to me that it lacks a lot of the customization KDE has. Don't get me wrong, I could have missing packages or something, I don't know. The only GNOME I am using right now is with SLED, and that's hacked to high heavens.
I think it's just that I've become so used to KDE... it's feature packed. I am not usually a fan of bloat, but a lot of the features in the control center I will actually use at some point or another. Meh, I'll try it again soon.
