From the ALSA project:
Sound Blaster X-Fi Card delivered to developers. Completely new architecture. Creative actively preventing support due to no datasheets being released to ALSA developers. Reverse engineering work not started due to lack of time. In short, avoid it like the plague. |

Surely, almost by definition, not doing something is passive. They would be actively preventing support if they sued ALSA over it or somesuch. What they're doing is passive prevention, or a lack of active support. Rather badly worded.
