Sun Microsystems has issued a press release detailing that engineers have yesterday been successful in running Solaris 10 on the Rock. We originally told you that the Rock had arrived on Jonathan Schwartz's desk a few weeks ago, but this 16 core processor has now booted with Solaris OS. The Rock is not only a 16 core processor but it also 256 terabytes of RAM in a single software domain and is an UltraSPARC implementation...
