NVIDIA SLI On Intel 975X Chipset

Some Intel 975X motherboards are capable of handling Scalable Link Interface, and under Windows there are modified drivers that allow SLI to operate on the i975X Chipset and other Intel Chipsets. However, I just wanted to pass along that the latest NVIDIA Linux drivers DO NOT support the i975X Chipset with SLI. Attempting to enable SLI or MultiGPU from the NVIDIA 1.0-9626 display drivers will fail.

I wonder if Nvidia will open this up soon? I keep hearing rumblings of official support in Windows, but nothing yet in Linux.....

I hear lots of ramblings about NVIDIA and their DirectX 10 Windows drivers (post 9X.XX series). If I had to place a guess, it would be the 975X SLI support coming with those drivers -- and hopefully the Linux equivalent.
