Default Phoronix Gaming Servers?

Recently we have received messages from people interested in Phoronix Gaming Servers, specifically for some open-source titles that seem to lack fast gaming servers for Internet play.

Would you be interested in Phoronix servers for popular Linux games? If so, what games would you like to see offered?

the problem as i see it, is that linux is a worldwide phenomenon, and likely there would be players in each country wanting better access to their fellow linux gamers....

obviously phronix doesn't have the capacity to put servers in every country, but perhaps you could start an collective initiative, a group that would offer time/equipment/servers/influence to make something like that happen...

i think collectively we'd be more than the sum of our parts in this instance...

obviously groups that band together have more power... think about the power...

I'm sure you will be getting many requests on this offer, but I'll go ahead and say that I've been playing Armegatron (single-player) and the game has got me hooked. I would take into account the amount of other servers available for games when deciding which game(s) to go with on this.

The number of servers won't be a problem, the problem would be just finding enough bandwidth.

I'm not a multiplayer kind of guy but shouldn't NWN Linux have some sort of server side end of hosting? That might be a good choice, but what do I know?

I have not been able to find many Quake 4 servers that run the Delta CTF MOD, just a thought. Another good choice might be True Combat Elite (http://www.truecombat.us/), there is not a huge lack of servers but I think it is one of the most absolutely fabulous games available, and it is 100% free.
