Default X.Org 7.3 Release Delayed

Phoronix: X.Org 7.3 Release Delayed

If you haven't noticed, the release of X.Org 7.3 has been delayed by at least a week. Eric Anholt, the X.Org 7.3 release manager, had pushed the X.Org 7.3 release back by at least a week due to show-stopping bugs.

Quality week yeah. Does a release schedule lower the quality of a product?

but of course.

when you have to hurry to catch up with the deadline you are bound to overlook lots of nasty bugs, because of the hurry. isn't it obvious?

opensource is about release early, release often. that said, you can get xorg off git all the time you want.

official releases are just development milestones when a certain amount of features goes in and some stability/security is ensured.
