Default instructions for installing X.Org 7.3

I want to install X.Org 7.3 on Fedora Core 4
Yum does not help because repository has 6.8 version
Installing it manually is hard for the non-specialist - a lot of packages and dependencies. Are there manuals, something, to help with this process?
Maybe there is some other package management utility that can be useful?
How does everybody here upgrade to the new version of X.Org?

thanks

Upgrade your distribution. Maybe you're able to upgrade to Fedora 5, then 6, then 7 etc., but even if it works, it wouldn't be really healthy for the system. Are you able to backup your files and install Fedora 8 once it is avaible? That would be the best you could do.
