Default Radeon Mobility Open Source Driver

With all this talk of the open source driver and support for various lines of ATi cards, I haven't heard much mentioned on Radeon Mobility cards. Are these included as well?

I have a Radeon Mobility X1300 card in my laptop that will not work in k/ubuntu without the proprietary drivers from ATI, even for simply starting the X server. I would prefer to use open source drivers over the binaries if possible.

Yes, the Mobility Radeons are supported.

Using a Radeon Mobility X1300 you should be able to use the RadeonHD driver on Ubuntu 7.10 or later (since X server 1.3 + is required).
