Default No "Input Hotness" For X Server 1.5

Phoronix: No "Input Hotness" For X Server 1.5

There's still one bug left before the release of X Server 1.4.1, but Daniel Stone has announced on the X.Org mailing list that X Server 1.5 will no longer contain any "input hotness". Specifically, XKB 2 and Xi 2 were planned but that has been postponed until at least X Server 1.6.

Xi 2 provides multiple cursors and some other features, IIRC.

Can't they just throw the MPX out till the next release? It's a bit absurd that I still can't hotplug my input devices. How many people use laptops nowadays? I will have to wait till the end op 2008 for support....

I think they should rethink their priorities. MPX is nice and cool, but who is going to use it?
