Default Songbird on Linux

Has anyone yet tried out Songbird Media Player on Linux? Any thoughts?

Source and Linux binaries are available @ http://www.songbirdnest.com/

I tried out the new release on a FC5 box for a while. The media player it certainly elaborate and has many iTunes-like features. While the program isn't yet stable (segmentation faults and other problems have jumped up quite a bit already), it certainly has the potential of being an excellent media player. Below are a few screenshots I just snapped for those that aren't familiar with this new OSS multi-platform media player.

Looks excellent and visually appealing to me. Wonder how it will compete against amaroK?

Wondering that myself.

I'll give it a try sometime this week though.

It surely looks good, Michael. I'll wait for it to stabilize a bit though.

Looks pretty good. Nice to see it supports FLAC right out of the box. Will be hard to compete with amaroK though.

It looks good and reacts snappily, but it wasn't even able to load my playlist completely before this: *** glibc detected *** free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x08ce4468 ***. Hopefully they will get those glaring errors ironed out. As a concept build, which it is, it looks like it will be a fun program.

Has anyone been able to load their playlist and is willing to report on the memory usage?

I'm already in love with MPD on Linux, but damn, a quick and easy way to get flac and ogg on the Windows workstations at the office! Now that's something.

Not to bash Songbird, but IMHO BMPx does it better.
