Default July 14th Conroe Launch

If you are in most of the US, then it is on the 13th, but east coasters can take their pick. The NDA expiry was pulled in to 9PM PST on July 13. Quite the odd time if I say so myself. The reason given is "due to popular demand", but if I was a base cynic, I would say it has something to do with the July 19th earnings call.

Conroe is very tempting for someone such as myself who is looking for an upgrade this summer. On the other hand, AMD is dropping prices a lot to compete, and I'm always looking for a bargain. This will be a difficult decision...

Default Intel Core 2 Duo Family Preview

A higher level of computing performance with lower clock speeds, and lower power consumption; is that too good to be true from our blue friends at Intel? With Intel proudly brazing their Core 2 products (namely the Conroe) on this late-night adventure, we have up our technical primer on this Pentium replacement.

Yep, we hope to have GNU/Linux Conroe performance numbers up in the near future.
