Total disk space reported incorrectly

I notice the total disk space only reports the amount of diskspace in the / partition. Since this partition is usually kept fairly small (otherwise it's a bit like putting all your files on a c:\ partition in windows) could it not be labelled as "Size of root partition" or have the Total Disk size field actually account for the total disk space?
