Phoronix: Ubuntu Now Drafting Plans For Possible 12.04.5 LTS

Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS was released this week and while the "Precise Pangolin" Long-Term Support release will still be maintained through 2017 with package updates, this was the last planned point release / ISO with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS just being a few months away. However, now it looks like an Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS will happen to port some of the hardware enablement changes...

Great news! Thanks a lot Canonical! I'll be using 12.04 for the next 2-3 years for sure so having the 3.13 kernel in an official way to support new drivers is just excellent.

    Again, thanks!

Started installing 12.04.4 today - having witnessed all kinds of 'fun' getting Debian to even boot properly on new hardware I think this 'enablement stack' idea is pretty awesome.

Hopefully 14.04 won't have too many stupid NIH 'features' and spoil it...
