      The Debian Jessie alpha 1 installer is released. It is not an alpha version of the distribution and you can still use the weekly build of the installer.

      The alpha 1 installer will probably always work, unlike the weekly builds at the cost of being older. That's the difference. The installed software is exactly the same.

      These "some people" are not realizing the requirement of manpower for such a thing (the LTS).

        it was uploaded to the archive by mistake, should've gone to a ppa instead, and got removed from proposed soon after upload

          Ha, maybe Debian needs to abandon alpha and beta wording . so everyone can easily avoid words which other does not like

            the real reason, mesa 10.1 have a error, dont work with bumblebee... but mesa 10.2 already have the bug fix

              because that fix totally wont be backported to 10.1.x
