ARB_enhanced_layouts Lands In Mesa Git, Rounds Out OpenGL 4.4 For RadeonSI
The work by Nicolai Hähnle on finishing up the GL_ARB_enhanced_layouts extension for Gallium3D is now in Git. This officially marks RadeonSI done with OpenGL 4.4 and is effectively done with OpenGL 4.5 although the new version string is yet to be advertised.
With today's Git, ARB_enhanced_layouts is enabled for RadeonSI, LLVMpipe, and Softpipe drivers, alongside the existing Intel Mesa i965 DRI driver support. The Nouveau NVC0 driver also has patches available to make use of this code too, it just hasn't been merged to Git as of writing.
ARB_enhanced_layouts was the last extension needed for OpenGL 4.4 while all OpenGL 4.5 extensions are already done with RadeonSI. As explained previously, while OpenGL 4.5 extensions are done, OpenGL 4.5 isn't being exposed at this time since the driver hasn't yet officially passed the Khronos conformance test suite for OpenGL 4.5 compliance. The Intel driver is in a similar boat with being "done" with OpenGL 4.5 while it only officially advertises OpenGL 4.4 for the moment.
These latest Mesa changes will be found in Mesa 13.0 due out in November.
