Another Sandy Bridge Era Motherboard Now Supported By Coreboot
The Sapphire Pure Platinum H61 is the latest motherboard to be supported by mainline Coreboot for replacing the board's proprietary BIOS.
Sapphire's Pure Platinum H61 motherboard from the LGA-1155 Sandy Bridge days is now supported by mainline Coreboot thanks to work and testing by Nicola Corna. With Coreboot flashed on the board, Debian Linux and Microsoft Windows 7 are working along with the major features of the board, similar to other Sandy Bridge era consumer boards working with Coreboot.
Shortcomings though are that USB is always powered on, the raminit is unreliable, and for the initial Coreboot flashing it must be programmed externally.
