GNOME 3.18 Beta Released, Now In Feature Freeze
The GNOME 3.18 beta is now available ahead of the planned GNOME 3.18.0 release in late September.
Besides having new GNOME packages out there, the beta milestone marks the point of an API/ABI freeze, feature freeze, and UI freeze for the GNOME 3.18 stack.
Among the changes in the GNOME 3.18 beta are Mutter fixing a longstanding NVIDIA screen update issue, Wayland touchpad gestures for GTK+, Glib's GNetworkMonitor now provides information about metered networks, GNOME Bluetooth adds Obex support to the settings, various GNOME Control Center enhancements, improvements to GNOME Boxes, Geo URI support for GNOME Maps, support for GNOME Software to download firmware metadata from the LVFS, and many other updates and fixes.
More details on the GNOME 3.18 Beta via the GNOME mailing list. The official GNOME 3.18.0 release is planned for 23 September.
