We've been looking forward to GStreamer 1.6 and now it's been released.

GStreamer 1.6 brings Stereoscopic 3D and multi-view video support, V4L2 improvements, H.265 video encoding/decoding via x265 and libde265, a new OpenGL-based QML video sink, and a huge variety of other improvements. There's a ton of other stuff too with GStreamer 1.6 representing more than one year of development.
