HTTPS By Default For Everyone
Just a quick heads up for those that haven't noticed yet, HTTPS is now used by default across all of Phoronix.com as of this week.
HTTPS has been available quite a while now on Phoronix.com albeit not the default except for the forums and premium users. HTTPS by default has now been flipped on globally after finishing up some server infrastructure tuning, ensuring Phoronix.net is playing nicely with HTTPS permanently as that's used for image/media serving, OpenBenchmarking.org graph assets being served by HTTPS everywhere to avoid JavaScript load issues, and then also ensuring all of our old content going back to 2004 is working out fine with HTTPS and not causing any breakage on our custom CMS.
With being swamped as is with writing ~10+ articles per day, daily benchmarking, PTS/OB/Phoromatic development, etc, already pushing 100 hour work weeks, it took longer than I wished to get around to finishing up HTTPS validation for the site.
Everything seems to have been running fine and HTTPS being promoted to default. If you run into any issues please post in the forums or send me off an email.
If you would like to further support all of the work being done at Phoronix, please consider viewing this website without an ad-blocker or subscribing to Phoronix Premium to enjoy this site ad-free and with multi-page articles on a single page among other benefits. PayPal tips are also graciously accepted. Thanks for your support.
