Hisilicon Kirin DRM Driver To Be Added For Linux 4.7
Being pulled into DRM-Next tonight is a Hisilicon DRM driver for supporting the Kirin SoCs. This DRM display driver was developed by Hisilicon themselves, one of the largest IC designers in China, and currently comes down to supporting the Kirin hi6220 SoCs. This new kernel display driver amounts to just under three thousand lines of new kernel code.
HiSilicon Linux fans wishing to dig through the new DRM display driver (simply called hisilicon) can find the code via this merge into DRM-Next for landing later this month during the Linux 4.7 merge window. This is a nice addition on top of other DRM changes for Linux 4.7 that have already been queued.
