New Elan Touchsceeen Driver, GPIO Decoder For "Input" On Linux 4.9
The input subsystem is the latest pull request to talk about for the forthcoming Linux 4.9 kernel development cycle.
New input drivers for Linux 4.9 include support for the Elan eKTF2127 touchscreen controllers, a generic GPIO-Decoder driver, and an ADC resistor ladder driver.
The Elan eKTF2127 should help out some users but wasn't able to find a comprehensive list of what devices make use of this touchscreen controller. The gpio-decoder driver simply reads the status of multiple encoded GPIO lines and reports it to the input subsystem. This GPIO Decoder driver was developed by Texas Instruments.
Aside from the new input drivers, the rest of the pull request is made up of various fixes and minor enhancements to this subsystem.
