Sound Updates Ready To Be Heard On Linux 4.14
Takashi Iwai of SUSE has mailed in his sound driver updates for the Linux 4.14 kernel. This time around there isn't too many speaker-shattering changes, but a wide range of fixes and a few notable changes.
Aside from minor additions and code fixes, some of the larger sound work to note for Linux 4.14 includes continued work on componentization of the sound drivers, jack detection support for the Qualcomm MSM8916 SoC, and then support for the Allwinner H3, Cirrus Logic CS43130, Intel Kabylake systems with RT5663, Realtek RT274, TI TLV320AIC32x6, and Wolfson WM8523. The Allwinner H3 sound support will benefit several as well as the Realtek RT274 D-A/SOC dual mode codec drivers. The Kabylake fixes will likely benefit some users too.
