Fedora 19 Might Be A Prime Rib Or Crop Circle
It's time to begin proposing codenames for Red Hat's Fedora 19 release. While the codename proposal process just began this morning, as usual, there's already a variety of funky codenames being shared.
Robyn Bergeron of Red Hat wrote this morning Don't have a cow, man: Fedora 19 naming suggestions are now open. Submit your idea!. Fedora 18 is codenamed the Spherical Cow and should be released next month while Fedora 17 was codenamed the Beefy Miracle.
Some Fedora users have wanted to change the release naming process to avoid such obscure codenames, but it seems for Fedora 19 that nothing will change. In the short time since the F19 naming process began today, among the suggested codenames so far include Schrödinger's cat, Crop Circle, Welkin, and Prime Rib. As said by one, "A Spherical Cow is a well-prepared work of meat & muscle, and so is Prime Rib. (19 is also a prime number.)"
Fedora 19 codenames can be proposed to the Fedora Project Wiki. The accepted codename following a voting process will be announced on 9 November.
In related news, the Fedora 18 Beta was delayed by another week.
