Fedora 19 Beta Released With Lots Of New Work

The first beta of Schrödinger's Cat, or more widely known as Fedora 19, is now available for testing. As usual, there's lots of new upstream improvements incorporated into this latest Fedora Linux build.

The Fedora 19 Beta features support for new 3D modelling/printing tools, OpenShift Origin support, Node.js packaging, MariaDB replaces MySQL, systemd enhancements, the GNOME 3.8 desktop or KDE 4.10 as an alternative, and many other package updates. Assuming there's no further delays, which is always possible in the Fedora world, the plan is to do the final release of Fedora 19 during the first week of July. The Fedora 19 Beta release announcement with more details and new features can be found on the Fedora mailing list.
