NVIDIA Introduces $400 GeForce GTX 770 GPU
To join the GeForce GTX TITAN and GTX 780 as the newest high-performance NVIDIA GPUs, rolled out this morning was the GeForce GTX 770. NVIDIA has introduced the GTX 770 as a new high-performance graphics card that's priced at $399 USD.
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 is a Kepler-based GPU for the high-end market that's slightly less performant than the recently-launched GeForce GTX 780 but is priced at just $399. Features of this new graphics card include a 1046MHz base core frequency with 1085MHz Boost frequency, 1536 CUDA cores, 2GB of GDDR5 memory, and other modern Kepler functionality like GPU Boost 2.0, 3D Vision, TXAA, SHIELD Ready, and supports OpenGL 4.3.
More details on the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 can be found via its press release and the GeForce.com product page.
As usual, NVIDIA should be issuing an updated proprietary Linux graphics driver soon to officially support the GeForce GTX 770. Expect the GTX 770 Linux support to be on-par with the Windows features and performance. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 will likely work with the Nouveau driver soon (if not already), but there for Kepler they don't yet have any re-clocking support and other features yet. If you're spending $400 on a new high-performance graphics card, you're really best off using the proprietary NVIDIA graphics driver until further notice.
