For those curious how the KDE libraries are going to be modularized by KDE Frameworks 5, there's a new article at KDE.org covering the changes.

Over on dot.kde.org is an article at length covering the extensive changes happening for KDE Frameworks 5 in advance of its proper debut in 2014.

The KDE libraries are still being re-worked into a set of cross-platform modules that will be available not only to KDE developers but all Qt developers as well. This KDE Frameworks 5 transition has already been happening for more than two years and the first preview version is expected to arrive this December. Check out the aforelinked article for more details.
