After a delay, NVIDIA released today its SHIELD portable gaming console that's powered by Android.

NVIDIA announced their ARM-based portable gaming console back in January and today it's finally shipping. The NVIDIA SHIELD is powered by their Tegra 4 ARM SoC, a "console-grade controller", a 5-inch HD retinal touchscreen display, and is powered by Google's Android "Jelly Bean" operating system. One of the other interesting selling points of this portable gaming device is that it supports streaming of video games from PCs.

More details on the NVIDIA SHIELD Android gaming device can be found via NVIDIA's blog.
