Blue Systems Seeks To Speed Up KF5 Development

For speeding up the development of KDE Frameworks 5, developers at Blue Systems are near exclusively focusing upon the development of these frameworks for the next three months.

Blue Systems, the German company that's been sponsoring Kubuntu, Mint Linux KDE edition, the Netrunner KDE distribution backer, and is involved with other KDE projects, is looking to push KDE Frameworks 5 ahead.

After a discussion at the KDE Akademy conference, the Blue Systems developers decided to switch working exclusively on the "Frameworks" for three months. Aurélien Gâteau of Blue wrote about this push on Monday via his blog.

For those simply looking to try out KDE Frameworks 5 in its current experimental state, you can use Project Neon on Kubuntu or the openSUSE packages. KDE Frameworks 5 should really heat up in 2014.
