Ubuntu Touch Passes 100,000 App Downloads
The Ubuntu Developer Blog has announced the milestone today of Ubuntu for phones and tablets passing 100,000 app downloads downloads.
Recently the Ubuntu Touch work crossed the milestone of having over 10,000 users on Ubuntu for phones and tablets while today they are announcing they have shot past 100,000 app downloads for these users. This comes while Ubuntu Touch is still rather developer-only with no actual devices shipping the Ubuntu mobile software, but that's expected soon in some markets from Canonical's first two phone partners. An RTM version of Ubuntu Phone is expected soon.
While 100,000 seems like a big number, their count reflects the number of times an Ubuntu Click package was installed, which counts application updates as a new download. More details can be found at developer.ubuntu.com.
