KDE Releases Plasma 5.1
As the first update to Plasma 5, the KDE community has today officially announced the release of Plasma 5.1.
KDE's Plasma 5.1 sports a wide variety of improvements -- including stability and performance work. There's many bug fixes, new artwork, restoration of some popular KDE4 widgets, more progress being made with the KDE Wayland porting, and other enhancements.
With KDE Plasma 5.1 there's now a kwin_wayland binary that will start a nested X Server with compatibility for X11-based applications, but their Wayland support along with the new KWayland library won't fully be ready for end-users until some time in 2015.
More details on KDE Plasma 5.1 can be found via this morning's release announcement and 5.1 change-log.
