NVIDIA Does An Official 275.xx Linux Driver Blob
NVIDIA has officially introduced their 275.xx Linux driver series with the stable release of the 275.09.07 binary driver this morning.
This first stable 275.xx Linux driver is coming after the release of the 275.09 beta, which brought support for new GLX protocol extensions, bug-fixes, VDPAU improvements, hardware-button-based pairing with NVIDIA 3D Vision Pro, and other changes. Also last week was the release of the 275.09.04 pre-release, which introduced GL_EXT_x11_sync_object support.
The NVIDIA 275.09.07 driver is now deemed stable with these changes, plus it also tacks on hardware support for the following new products: GeForce GTX 560, GeForce GT 545, GeForce GTX 560M, GeForce 410M, GeForce 320M, GeForce 315M, Quadro 5010M, Quadro 3000M, and Quadro 4000M. This new release also fixes a bug that had caused desktop corruption from the GNOME 3.0 desktop when performing a VT switch or doing a suspend-and-resume cycle.
This new binary NVIDIA Linux driver can be downloaded from the NVIDIA FTP server.
